My sis and I went to check out the AYCE sushi for lunch at $27.95pp. Pretty solid for the price and location, though the sushi rice could be better. Our faves were the fried oysters, snowflake salmon nigiri, honey soy beef belly, and salmon to the moon roll. I want to come back to try their new premium menu for addtl $20pp. It wasn't busy when we were there on a Monday, and services was friendly and fast. Parking can be expensive as they do not validate (I read on Yelp that you can park at the Wailana Parking Structure across the street for $6-7 per hour), but we found metered street parking 1-2 blocks away and paid $6 for 2 hrs. Tip: check out Gelato and Chill (located below Kan Sushi) for dessert afterwards and present your Kan Sushi receipt for 10% off your order.

Went for my bday, waited at Gens for 30 mins when they said the wait was 10. Kan said they could seat us when we got there. They did just that. The person in the front was very nice, and quickly got us a seat. Our waitress was also amazing as well, wish we got her name. I should add this is the second time we have been here before when they first open. It was not as great as this visit was. We ordered a bunch of rolls, including our favorite the Bonnie and Clyde, I believe the yam bam was the name of another, and a few recommendations by our waitress as well. We did have a few orders get mixed up but that was alright we still accepted them and ate them. My friend got hot tea as usual, and I ordered a Shirley temple , unfortunately no cherries but it's alright! The restaurant is a bit on the dim and darker but it's okay. There is a lot of space which I like, compared to the first time there is way more workers as it use to take 30 mins for every order. This time we got to order a lot more food quicker and they came out within 5-10mins. We paid $45 per person for the regular dinner menu as we didn't really see why we might want anything from the premium. Maybe you might, but we're more on the savings side.

Kan Sushi has a wide selection, unique fusion, and simple sushis to choose from. Like the doritos roll having nacho cheese dorito crumbs on a shrimp tempura unagi roll was oddly tasty. Our service was good. Friendly and quick. Interior is a low and dark style setting that's clean and organized. Came in on Father's Day at time of opening (11 am) and our party of 7 was seated immediately. Everything was fresh and so good!! Our server Justin provided amazing service and all of our food came out really quick. If you love sashimi and hamachi or salmon kama, upgrading to premium is worth it! Everyone in our party definitely enjoyed it. Will definitely be back! Highly recommend!

I have been here almost CONCERNING amount of times and I would come here every other week if I could LOL. I was quite hesitant when I first visited here due to the negative reviews regarding the wait. However, maybe it is because I am a very patient person, but I had never had much of an issue with the wait. There has been a few moments where I was slightly rocking in my seat for the dishes to come but all was good once it eventually arrived. There are also some moments where I would be seated slightly losing my patience as I can see my order sit at the bar and not being delivered to my table. The ambiance is very calm and actually quite dark, kinda hard to see everything at night in some spots of the restaurant, it just also depends where you are seated. If you are looking for AUTHENTIC Japanese sushi experience, this is not the place to go (imo). I personally think that this is the perfect place to go for 'affordable' and delicious ayce sushi and having a very large variety especially after they expanded their menu. Speaking of the expansion of their menu, it definitely feels more daunting and intimidating to some, there is a lot more words and less pictures. It is basically $40 pp if you're getting the basic DINNER menu and $60 pp if you want the premium menu on top. I personally would never come here to order ala carte as the prices would be insane with that approach but do as you wish. I only go for the dinner menu as the $10 different ($30 lunch menu) seems much more worth it to me. To the food; there is definitely some inconsistency here and there. I do not expect perfection especially with the large menu set and the ayce experience. The only notable instances was when the dish had tempura, sometimes its freshness would vary dramatically. Sometimes it would be cold and almost stale and other times it would be fresh (more often in the middle-ish). What I would recommend: Before I get started, I just want to note that first, again, my taste of sushi is slightly americanized. Another thing is, most of my visits were before their expansion of the menu, so I haven't gotten to try a lot of the newer items. I may just stick with my old ways haha. - Shrimp Tempura - Baked Green Mussles - Fresh water eel - Snowflake Salmon - Roly Poly - Creamy S&S - Bonnie & Clyde (has been changed with new menu?) - Dragon Roll - Tom and Jerry - Baked Scallop Roll I will hopefully be going back very soon!

Overall, my experience here was great. Unlike other reviews, the food came out fairly quickly, but there were some mix ups. The people working were very friendly and we were seated fairly quickly for a Saturday. The restaurant was spacious, clean, and well lit For the food, I will say that we enjoyed all of the rolls that we ate. The dishes that were not as enjoyable were some of the appetizers and the nigiri sushi. Again, all of the rolls were great! But the squid was hard to eat (too chewy and burned) and the spaghetti was just too sweet. Would have liked a more tomatoey sauce, but that's just a personal preference. As for the Nigerian, the salmon was good, unfortunately, we were not a fan of the tuna selections. It may have just been that day, but probably will try other dishes next time. Overall, food wise, we enjoyed a majority of what we ordered, so I would definitely give this place a try again. Also, won't order too many items at a time as this caused some mixups with our orders.

Changes to the menu since we came 5 months ago. Current Prices $28.95 M-Th till 3pm / $38.95 dinner Split into 2 different menus: Regular & Premium for extra $20 Sadly Truffle Salmon Nigiri (My previous favorite) is now only part of the premium menu. There is the Black Philadelphia which has some truffle oil. Decent alternative. Recommend: Gyoza, Takoyaki, Tuna Nigiri, Tuna Tataki Nigiri, Snowflake Salmon Nigiri, Peppered Salmon Nigiri, Roly Poly, Baked Scallop Roll, Yam Bam Cruncher, Salmon to the Moon, After Rain Roll, Black Philadelphia (for the truffle lovers). Disliked: Bao Buns, Miso Soup, Garlic Chicken, Escolar Nigiri Service: We had the pleasure of getting Nicolas again as our server and he was attentive. Our other server was Justin and he was so friendly. They both made sure everything went smoothly. We were there for about 75 minutes and we didn't wait too long between ordering and when food came. Not the best sushi obviously, but an affordable way to satisfy the craving (if you're not super bougie) lol. Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5
